tbh I wrote all this way before the new year even started as i've reworked my website, buuuttt... I've said it before and I'll say it again; I HATE modern social media and I've always loved the idea of personal websites. Thus, This website was born.
Growing up I would come across these personal websites and it would be so cool how people somehow gave form to their personality, their thoughts, their...selves in a digital world. Unfortunately I caught the tail end of that era before social media blew up completely. By the time I got online, facebook and early twitter was a thing...personal websites were still around but no one would check them out and updates would slowly roll over to posting on said social media. everything became overly public, centralized, and posts became "who can get the most likes by saying and posting the most attention grabbing stuff" One big "pick me" ya know?
Before I get off track tho...I basically want my own personal corner of the internet that I have full control over. Blog posts that are made for me first, friends second, then it's cool if randoms come across this...i suppose. Wirting in a diary our journal always felt boring but making this gives me purpose to log myself...if that makes sense. I just need a place to rant and keep a semi-permanent record of my life I can look back on. maybe 10% a cry for help
- Located on the Home Page. think of it as a blurb section. short updates and thoughts that Don't really need a dedicated Blog post. It's not something that is meant to be permanent. Tho there is a chance one could expand to a Blog post eventually....maybe...
- Something I may be fixating on at the time or something i saw/heard thats so cool that I felt compelled to talk about it. Highlights will be archived in my blog archive
- Self Explained. Just fun little polls I make that really don't mean anything. it's lowkey a way to see how many people interact with my site
- Shameless way to plug my music taste or playlists I make.
- Redirects outside of my site but still has my aesthetic. I try to make everything hosted on my site. I like self contained things, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
- Now has a fancy search bar, a drop down archive, and sortable tags! stalking me will be so easy now! Over time I'll add more tags as i expand my topics and such...if I ever really want to. I like simple things.
